Tony Rugnetta has appeared in numerous films and stage plays. He had the good fortune of studying with legendary acting teacher Lee Strasberg at Lee Strasberg’s Theatre and Film Institute in N.Y. Tony also studied with actor Geoffrey Horne who was in the film The Bridge on The River Kwai. He also studied with actor director Arthur Sherman , who directed The Caine Mutiny On Broadway. And with actress Eve Collyer, who worked extensively with Christopher Walken and Roy Scheider.

Tony grew up in Brooklyn and had the pleasure of knowing and establishing a wonderful relationship with actor Vincent Gardenia, who was twice nominated for an oscar. Tony learned a great deal from Vince and would enjoy their discussions on acting and occasionally work on various scenes together. It was an invaluable experience knowing Vince first as a friend and as a teacher that I will cherish always.

Tony had the opportunity to work with The Legendary Frank Sinatra on a film entitled The First Deadly Sin in which he shared a scene with Mr. Sinatra where Tony was playing the role of a police officer and it was filmed at a precinct in New York City, near Madison Sq. Garden.

He truly enjoys working with filmmaker John Orrichio whom he classifies as an actors director. John’s creativity and exploration of a character provides the actor with an abundance to work with as well as the actor’s own preparation in developing his role. Directors comparable to Orrichio only engender the finest performances from their cast.

Tony hosts a radio show dedicated to Frank Sinatra entitled A Celebration of Sinatra The Man and his Music. He is currently working on broadcasting the show in The N.Y. Market, and WBAI FM has been very supportive.

Tony is dedicated to the fight against cancer, and is active in raising funds for one of his favorite charities, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. He organizes benefit concerts and has worked with legends like Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Connie Francis, and Ben E. king and Shirley Alston Reeves.
